Mickie has known this week’s guest for about 10 years…Mickie has known her as Tammy. In Tammy’s personal evolution to move from Where she was to Who she is, she recently chose to change her name to Alex. Alex, like Mickie, could be a male name…it’s not about that. Alex is all woman…she’s chosen to move to a new town and make a fairly fresh start. As it happens, about 12 years ago Mickie legally changed her last name to one of her choice: Zada. What’s in a Name? A Lot!
I recently listened to Dan Buettner’s Ted Talk. Google it, if you’re interested in living a long, productive Life. You’ll be introduced to some very fascinating folks. You’ll also learn the lifestyle requirements to live to be 100+, while also being productive, self-sufficient, physically and emotionally healthy. Mickie recommends Mr. Buettner’s Ted Talk, and she fleshes out a couple of his recommendations.
Mickie’s friend, Jerome Braggs, is the author of an inspiring poem: the first line is “I’ve been broken 1000 times”. (Who of us hasn’t been? I know I can relate to that statement!) Mickie shares how the poem speaks to her Life experiences and decisions, and offers suggestions for you in lessons, growth and truth.
Mickie read that people in their 50’s and 60’s are no longer concerned with what other people think about them: they are wise enough to know that other people don’t think about them much anyway! Concern about what other people think is perfectly normal at any age…if you sometimes wonder about other people’s opinions of you, Mickie offers 7 suggestions to stop those thoughts.
